The Priesthood
In Old Testament times The Tabernacle and The Temple represented the presence of God among His people..
God’s holiness demanded reverent worship, thus God ordained the priesthood to instruct man about sin and worship.
God chose Aaron and his sons, Nadab, Abihu, Eleazar & Ithamar (and their future descendants) to serve as priests or go-betweens.

GARMENTING / Ex.28
1. They were to wear “holy” garments - - for glory and for beauty. – vs.2
Skilled artisans were charged with making the garments for the priests. – vs.3
2. These priestly garments, highlighted by the colors gold, blue, purple and scarlet included seven particular pieces:
Breeches/undergarments (vs.42) … Tunic/coat (vs.40) …Robe (vss.31-35) … Ephod/vest (vss.6-7) …
Girdle/belt or band (vs.8) … Breastplate (vss.9-20) … and a Turban/miter (vs.39). cf. Lev.8:6-9
How many precious stones adorned the breastplate? – vss.21 & 29

CONSECRATION / Ex.29

CRAFTSMEN / Ex.31
1. Bezalel and Oholiab were the chief supervisors of the artisans who worked on the tabernacle project.
God granted them wisdom, knowledge, understanding & craftmanship.
2. Although there was much work to be done, the workers we commanded to “remember the Sabbath”. – vss.12f
Final Note
These detailed instructions regarding the tabernacle and priesthood were given to Moses by God on the mount. – vs.18
Do you think Moses made copious notes or did God work to jog his memory?
Thus, Moses descended the mount carrying the two tables of testimony, tablets of stone, written by the finger of God.
