1. To reveal by Divine inspiration - - to speak as a prophet … To speak forth the will or message of God.

2. To prefigure, foreshow and predict the future.

1. Some prophesying included predictions about the future.

  The kind of predictions revealed were not vague and ambiguous, but rather quite explicit, particular and delineated. 

  Many Bible prophecies are noted for their high level of specificity.

2.  Prophesying in the form of foretelling the future was often used by God.  cf. Deut.18:9-22 and Isa.41:22-23

3.  The Old Testament contains numerous MESSIANIC PROPHECIES that tell particulars about Jesus well in advance.
