1) What was/is “the gift of the Holy Spirit” spoken of in Acts 2:38?

Repent, and let each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the

forgiveness of your sins; And you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit

   Is there a difference between the gifts of the Holy Spirit and the GIFT of the Holy Spirit?

  Using 1Cor.12:7 make a list of the various gifts of the Spirit.

  What was the time frame for the giving of these miraculous gifts? – cf. Acts 2:17 & 20

 

2) Were not “the gifts”a means of delivering “the gift”?

  It was the gifts that brought about God’s revealed will (“all truth”) – cf. Jn.14:25-26 & 16:13

  It was the gifts that confirmed the message of the gospel – Heb.2:3-4

  The gifts were given to bring about “the perfect” – 1Cor.13:8-10

 

3) What was the GIFT - - the end result of the gifts of the Holy Spirit?

  Forgiveness of sins – Acts 2:38

  Access…Adoption…Atonement…Deliverance…Eternal Life…Expiation…Freedom…Grace… Justification…Mercy…Peace…Propitiation…Reconciliation…Redemption…Remission…

Resurrection…Restoration…Righteousness…Salvation…Sanctification…Victory…etc.

  ALL ASPECTS OF LIFE IN CHRIST JESUS

~ The Perfect Word (the Sacred Scriptures) – Jn.6:68; 2Tim.3:15-16 & Jude 3

~ The Kingdom of Christ – Jn.3:3 & 4 and 2Pet.1:11

~ The Church – Col.1:18 & Eph.3:21

~ The Body Of Christ – 1Cor.12:13

~ A House Not Made With Hands – 2Cor.5:1

~ The City Of God – Heb.11:10

~ The New Jerusalem - Heb.12:22 and Rev.21:2

~ The New Creation – 2Cor.5:7 & Rev.21:5

~ The New And Living Way – Heb.10:20

~ “Every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places” – Eph.1:3

~ “All things that pertain to life and godliness” – 2Pet.1:3

~ Paradise restored – Rev.22:1-5

  All of the above make up the GIFT of the Holy Spirit!

 

4) In what sense does baptism save us?

  How was Noah saved from the wicked world in which he lived?

  1Pet.3:21

~ Noah and his family “were brought safely through the water”.

~ Likewise, baptism conducts us to a new world (life in Christ Jesus).
