1) Why did Jesus come to earth?
To bring God’s message…To establish the church...To reveal God...To show us an example.
To become a sacrifice for sin! – Heb.9:11-12; Gal.3:13; 1Pet.2:24; etal.
2) Why did Jesus die on the cross?
cf. Mt.26:28 / this is My blood of the covenant which is poured out for many for forgiveness of sins.
3) Can forgiveness of sins come “without the blood”?
Heb.9:22 / without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness
No blood, no forgiveness!
We are justified or pardoned by His the blood of Christ – Rom.5:9
Our redemption comes by means of His blood – Eph.1:7 & 1Pet.1:18-19
4) How does one access the blood of Christ?
Ro.6:3 / as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death
Ro.6:5 / we have become united with Him in the likeness of His death
Gal.3:27 / all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ
5) What causes men and women to be separated from God?
Isa.59:1-2 / SIN
Rom.3:9-10 & 23 / all are under sin … there is none righteous … all sin and fall short
6) What does God offer us in baptism?
The way into Christ - - the way to become righteous (2Cor.5:21).
FORGIVENESS OF SINS comes by being baptized into Christ Jesus.
~ Acts 2:38 / repent and be baptized for the forgiveness of your sins
7) If Jesus died for all, why are not all saved?
1Jn.2:2 / He Himself is the propitiation for our sins; and not for ours only, but also for the whole world
1Jn.4:14 / the Father has sent the Son to be the Savior of the world
Mt.7:14 / the way is narrow that leads to life
Not all will believe and not all will obey - Jn.3:36 cf. 1Thess.1:8
8) When hundreds were baptized on Pentecost, to what were they added?
Acts 2:41 / those who received his word were baptized; and there were added that day about 3,000 souls
