Not-So-Good Excuses for Not Attending Sunday School
Not-so-good Excuses for not attending Sunday school
X Sunday morning is the only day of the week I have to sleep in and I savor those extra forty minutes.
X I really don’t need to study the Bible in a church-group setting - - I am doing mighty fine on my own.
X I don’t get anything out of Sunday School, and besides - - I already know all that I need to know.
X I don’t find it the least bit rewarding to spend time in study with my dear brothers & sisters in Christ.
X Seldom, if ever, is there offered a course of study or a subject of discussion that piques my interest.
X I’m really not all that concerned about the morale and momentum of growing the family of God.
X I have various other “things to do” that are more important than the study of the Word of God.
X I believe that one hour per week is enough of my time to allocate to God and my church family.
X I like to stay up late on Saturday nights and frankly I’m just too tired to make it to Sunday School.
X I don’t particularly like the teacher of the Sunday Bible class - - his or her style doesn’t suit my fancy.
“(God) was giving a banquet, and He invited many; He sent His servant to say to those who had been invited,
‘Come; for everything is ready now.’ But they all alike began to make excuses … Then the head of the household
became angry and said to His servant, ‘Go out…and compel them to come in that My house may be filled’.” / Lk.14:16ff
