Larry’s sermon title for today is   “Abiding in Light, Life, and Love II” (Matthew 7:21-23).

LIFE involves a continual process of learning and growing from what it is that we learn both good experiences and the difficult ones.  The psalmist wrote:   It is good for me that I have been afflicted, That I may learn Your statutes” (Psa. 119:71).  The word “afflicted” is also rendered in some translations as “humbled” or “brought low” because the situations and circumstances of life sometimes seem to ‘pull the rug out from under our feet’ suddenly and unexpectedly.  These are times to discover a time of silence and deep reflection about where we are and what adjustments are necessary in the direction of our lives.   It is a time when we can better appreciates God’s “statutes” (principles of life) that brings wisdom, hope, and success in moving forward.

Copies of the 2024 revised directory are now ready and on the back table!

Rob Espinosa will be in Searcy, Arkansas, next week to attend his son Joshua's May 4th graduation at Harding University.

Josh and his fiancee Marissa Bennett will be united in marriage this summer and both will begin new jobs (teaching school) in Clarksville, Tn..  

There will be no covered dish luncheon in May due to the second Sunday being Mother’s day. We will start our summer picnics under the pavilion on June 9th.
