Hear The Children Crying

HEAR THE CHILDREN CRYING

Nothing has brought me a greater chill than the recent passage of a New York state legislative bill labeled, the Reproductive Health Act.  More than anything we’ve witnessed of late, this is a grave indicator of the moral decline that is going on in our nation today:  that babies in the womb   can be deprived of life right up to their day of delivery.  To make matters worse, the passage of this unholy writ was hailed as a great victory, signed into law on the 46th anniversary of Roe V Wade and accompanied by loud applause and celebration that included the lighting of the Empire State building in NYC in pink (declaring it to be an unprecedented plus for women’s rights).  How can this not be utterly disturbing and heartbreakingly sad to all who wear the name of Christ Jesus?   New York's Cardinal Dolan rightly referred to it as ghoulish, grizzly and gruesome.  Such transcends cruelty.  It is hideous, inhumane, unwarranted, barbaric and murderous.  Why not promote adoption rather than abortion?  The waiting list is ever so long for scores of thousands of childless couples who are ever so eager to provide an unwanted child with a warm and loving home.

How is it that social progressives can argue so vehemently against separating young children from their parents (at our southern borders), but fail to shed a tear at the thought of innocent, soon-to-be newborns being slaughtered right up to the day of delivery?  Such amounts to A HORRIFIC MADNESS.  It is not a breath away from infanticide - - IT IS INFANTICIDE!!  Modern medical science clearly reveals that the child in the womb has a functioning brain and a heartbeat.  How can it be that choices, convenience and personalhappiness” have come to matter more than human life?

Those who argue for such a law claim that it is premised on two key conditions:  the non-viability of fetus and/or the health of the mother.  The problem with this contorted foundation is that very few births nowadays are truly considered non-viable.  And secondly, and most deceptively, the "health" of the mother can be so loosely interpreted.   The stipulation goes way beyond biological well-being, so as to encompass age and eco-nomics, as well as social and emotional status.  Realistically, an expectant mother could assert the day before her due date that she's just not ready for the stress of caring for a baby.  That is all that is needed to abort a child.  May God help us all if this is where we really want to be in America!!!
